This week's highlights

What just hit the floor.

Chanel caviar wallet-on-chain, black with gold hardware

A classic WOC in excellent condition, with the original dust bag and authenticity card. Caviar leather holds up better than lambskin for everyday use, and this particular chain length sits at the right spot for crossbody wear. One very small scratch on the back plate, barely visible. Priced well below retail.

Burberry Kensington trench, size 6

The honey-coloured gabardine trench that Burberry has been making in one form or another for over a century. This one is a recent Kensington cut, which runs slightly more fitted through the waist than the Heritage line. Belted, with the house-check lining. Worn gently through one autumn season.

Gucci Horsebit 1955 shoulder bag, brown canvas

The GG Supreme canvas with the brass horsebit clasp. A structured bag that works for both casual and dressy situations. This particular consignment came from a local collector downsizing her rotation. Interior is clean and the canvas shows no cracking.

Seasonal rotation

What consignment season looks like in Sacramento.

Sacramento has a particular consignment rhythm. In late spring, the closet clean-outs accelerate. People clear out winter coats and heavier knits to make space, which means the boutique fills up with outerwear and wool pieces at exactly the right time for someone shopping ahead for autumn. By mid-summer, we see a surge of sandals, summer dresses, and lighter bags as the weather turns genuinely hot and people rotate their wardrobes.

Elegant women's fashion outfit flatlay showing coordinated designer pieces

The smartest consignment shoppers in Sacramento know this pattern. They buy off-season. A cashmere coat in July costs a fraction of what it costs in October. A silk summer dress in December is practically a gift. The rack rotates every week, and the best pieces disappear within a day or two of being tagged. If you're serious about it, visit on Tuesdays when the new intake from the previous week goes out.

Ready-to-wear picks for this season

Darcy has been pulling a few things aside this month that she thinks are worth a specific mention:

  • Theory blazers (sizes 4-8): Three came in from the same consignor, all in near-perfect condition. The kind of blazer you throw over a t-shirt and jeans and suddenly look like you planned the whole thing.
  • Tory Burch ballet flats (sizes 7 and 8): The Minnie Travel flat in two colourways. These are the flats that pack flat in a carry-on and survive a full day of walking. Barely worn.
  • Saint Laurent silk blouses: Two consignment pieces from different sources. Both in black, both in excellent shape. One has a pussy bow, the other is a simple button-front. Hard to find these secondhand without staining, and both are clean.

How to stay in the loop

We don't run an online shop. Everything is in-store, tried on in person, and taken home in hand. The best way to know what's arriving is to visit weekly or email us with what you're looking for. If a specific designer or size comes in, we'll set it aside and give you a call. That's how a boutique like this is meant to work.
